A Roma anunciou na manhã desta terça-feira (16) a demissão de José Mourinho do cargo de treinador do clube. De Rossi vai assumir o cargo até é 30 de junho de 2024. Mourinho deixa a equipe italiana após 138 jogos. O time estava na nona colocação do Campeonato Italiano e longe da briga por vaga na Liga dos Campeões. Além do técnico português, toda sua comissão técnica também vai deixar o clube. Eles estavam na Roma desde 2021. O time vinha de três jogos sem vencer. No último final de semana, a Roma perdeu para o Milan por 3 a 1. Mourinho deixa a Roma após 138 jogos, com um vice-campeonato da Liga Europa e um título da Conference League.

O nome de Mourinho, que já passou por Chelsea, Inter de Milão, Real Madrid e Manchester United, entre outros, foi um dos especulados nas últimas semanas para assumir a seleção brasileira, antes de a CBF anunciar Dorival Júnior para o cargo.
